Fred Gerantabee is an Emmy, Cannes Lion, One Show and Webby award winning technologist and digital leader with nearly 2 decades in technology product development, digital growth and leadership.
Most recently, he established and led the technology and innovation practice at GREY, where he was one of the key drivers in the agency’s exponential digital growth and created the agency’s first innovation center, The Distillery. He has led and launched successful, award-winning products and campaigns for CoverGirl, Marriott Hotels, Volvo, Canon USA and Eli Lilly across web, mobile, experiential and emerging channels.
Starting his career as a designer, he quickly moved to engineering and web development, and spent time as a lead programmer in the retail and financial spaces before heading to a product development role with Walt Disney Internet Group. There he architected and developed second screen applications for primetime shows and live events including LOST, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the 2004 Election Coverage and ToonDisney’s JETIX Cards Live, which took home a Technical Emmy for best ITV Application.
Before moving agency side, Fred focused on product development and evangelism for both Adobe and Microsoft, and as a subject matter expert on web and digital creative process. He has penned over 14 books and several video series on Adobe and Microsoft development and creative tools with a focus creative development and prototyping.
A New York native, Fred lives in Long Beach with his family, where enjoys his guitar collection, long bike rides and teaching his daughter how to build things.
